This innovative campaign, a game-changer in the world of advertising, transports audiences into a mesmerizing 3D animated film projected onto the historic Walthamstow Town Hall and captured live in action.
Crafted by the visionary minds at Dentsu Creative, the film was a collaboration between acclaimed Director Anthony Rubinstein and Blind Pig.
To bring this projection to life, the team and I faced the daunting task of seamlessly incorporating two aesthetic elements: a 2.5D layered, stock footage parallax and a 3D crumbling brick wall that needed to blend flawlessly with the town hall's architecture.
As a key member of the team, I played a pivotal role in creating the crumbling wall and animated flying more. Working alongside Sean Cooper we devised the perfect strategy to project the film in a way that would both impress on-site and drive the narrative of the film. It was a technical feat to match the angle of the shot, but through our hard work and determination, we achieved the improbable and the final result was nothing short of breathtaking.
Decaying wall studies
I meticulously orchestrated a series of tests to ensure that the wall and bricks behind it crumbled and moved in perfect synchronization and with just the right amount of character.
Each test was a thrilling challenge as I fine-tuned every detail, from the pace of the crumbling to the character of the movement, to make it feel as realistic and visually striking as possible.
I poured my passion, knowledge, and expertise into every step of the process, from the initial planning to the final execution, to ensure that the crumbling wall was not only structurally sound but also visually captivating.
